Cleaning guidelines for the reduction of chlorpropham (CIPC) in potato warehouses
As can already be seen from specialist journals, germ inhibitors with the active ingredient chlorpropham (CIPC for short) will no longer be available in Europe from the 2020 season.
The use of CIPC-containing sprout inhibitors will be prohibited from the second half of 2020.
At the European level, due to possible residues in warehouses, an agreement has been reached to draft and publish a "Cleaning Guideline for the Reduction of Chlorpropham (CIPC) in Potato Warehouses".
After relocating the 2019 harvest, we recommend wet cleaning of the warehouses with documentation by means of images and proof of date in accordance with the cleaning guidelines.
